Walking Netballers Get Involved for World Mental Health Day

October 10th was World Mental Health Day, and this year Birmingham NDO Kirsty organised a walking netball festival which saw 11 teams as well as staff and umpires getting involved in sport to combat mental health.

Some teams came along for a Wiggle and Giggle unscored tournament to enjoy the atmosphere of the day, but we also ran an In It To Win It competitive tournament for those who like to win, and a big well done to our winners of the day Stafford Diamonds!

We were also very lucky to have representatives from Birmingham Mind and South Warwickshire and Worcestershire Mind with us to talk to our players about looking after their mental health and wellbeing which was a meaningful addition to the day that was appreciated by all.

As well as this, the incredible walking netballers contributed generously to a bake sale which went down very well with the hungry players and staff, and of which the profits will be split between Mind and World Mental Health 💚

This World Mental Health Day, take time to check on your friends and family and support each other, you never truly know what someone is going through 🫂
