West Midlands Celebrate Success at National ONE Awards

Last Saturday, netballers from across the nation came together to celebrate all the amazing volunteers who make netball great. Our 10 fantastic regional ONE Awards winners all became finalists at the national awards and went up against the 8 other regional winners 🏆
A huge huge congratulations goes to Asia & The Women’s Netball League for winning the National Inclusion Award, for removing participation barriers for women with cultural and religious values to provide a regular, competitive netball opportunity in Birmingham. This award recognises people and organisations who work to make netball an inclusive and safe place, and we are so proud of Asia and WNL for bringing such an important award home to the West Mids 🌟
We also want to say a massive well done to Lilli-May Schuck for achieving her 400 volunteering hours award as part of the Pass on Your Passion scheme, one of only eight young people to complete this milestone achievement this year. Lilli-May is an incredible role model for young people, dedicating so much of her free time to netball in her club and local community 🫶
At this year’s ONE Awards, our Regional Chair, Kerrie Jones, was awarded one of the highest honours that England Netball bestows on volunteers for exceptional service to netball at a national level. Kerrie became an Honourary Life Member for decades of service to our amazing sport, including being on the South Staffordshire County committee, joining the EN National Board and leading sub committees at a national level, and then becoming the Regional Chair for the West Midlands in 2011 amongst numerous other achievements. Kerrie has led on the development and improvement of netball locally and has always had the West Midlands best interests at heart, with an everlasting passion for the sport.
A huge congratulations Kerrie, we all know just how much you deserve this honour 🌟
